Among the many applications that Apple has enhanced and improved, over time, also Find Friends; it is a location-based service, which allows you to know the exact location of friends and family within the Map.

In this guide, we’ll focus on one aspect – how to get notifications when a friend leaves a certain location or arrives at a certain location.

The first thing to do is to open the Find Friends app available on your device. From this screen, you will need to click on All Friends and invite your friends, through an address linked to their Apple accounts.

At this point, you can click on the invited friend and, through the “Ask to Follow” tab, you can send a request to follow his or her location.

You will need the latter to accept the invitation, and want to share his or her position with you. Once this is done, always within the tab of this contact, you will have to click on the item “Notify me”. This window will allow you to set up notifications, when the contact leaves a certain place, or will return there. Of course, it will be up to us to identify the area in which the notifications will operate.

You will be able to type a street, and then choose the radius beyond which to trigger the notification. In this way, as soon as the user leaves this range, or returns to it, a notification will be issued notifying us of the move.

The procedure for sharing your position can be limited in time. In fact, when you invite someone for the first time, you can choose whether to share your location forever, for an hour or just at the end of the day. In this way, you do not run the risk of living in a perennial “big brother”.
